Common Conventions Used in Contents Pages


  • Contents is divided into columns
  • Key features and articles are accompanied with images
  • For magazines with younger target audiences, there is often a message to the reader from the editor
  • Each article has a clear 'title' and is then described in more detail underneath
  • Articles may be ordered by page number or by a certain category 
  • A large number of artists are mentioned -on average around 17.
